Sonoma County

Sonoma County has a loan program.  Any residential, commercial, or industrial property owner in Sonoma County may participate in the program provided the following requirements are satisfied:

  •  Applicant(s) is/are legal owner of the property described  in the Application (the “Property”).
  • Property is developed and located within Sonoma County.  Mobile homes that are not affixed to real property and subject to secured property tax are not eligible.
  • Property Owner is current on all property taxes.  
  • Property Owner is current on mortgage(s). For commercial property,  lender has given consent to SCEIP Financing
  • Property Owner is not in bankruptcy and the property is not an asset in a bankruptcy.

Energy Independence Program

SONOMA COUNTY RESIDENTS AND BUSINESS OWNERS MAY TAKE OUT A LOAN FOR 10% OF THE VALUE OF THE PROPERTY TO UPGRADE THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF THE BUILDING AND SYSTEMS.  THE LOAN AND CURRENT MORTGAGES CAN NOT TOTAL MORE THAN 100% OF THE CURRENT MARKET VALUE.  UPGRADES INCLUDE THE COMMON ITEMS LISTED TO THE LEFT.  YOUR PAYMENTS ARE MADE TWICE A YEAR, SIMILAR TO YOUR PROPERTY TAX PAYMENTS, WITH AN AVERAGE INTEREST REATE OF 7%.  AND IF YOU SELL THE PROPERTY, THE LOAN REMAINS WITH THE PROPERTY.

  • 100% (up to $700 max.) for HERS Whole House Rater Test-In
  • 100% (up to $300 max.) for HERS Whole House Rater Test-Out
  • 100% (up to $1,400 max.) for EUC Participating Contractor Test-In with a  HERS Whole House Rater Test-out
